BIOSKETCH
Dr Gloria Mfeka-Nkabinde is a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in Family Medicine and Rural Medicine. She is actively contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, research, and community development. Her scholarly work focuses on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH), Gender Studies and Health care systems research. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of KwaZulu- Natal exploring the dynamics of adolescent fertility in a rural sub-district of northern KwaZulu-Natal. She sits on the board of trustees for Umthombo Youth Development Fund (UYDF), a non-profit organisation providing support and mentorship to rural youth studying Health Sciences degrees with the aim of improving the healthcare workforce in rural District Hospitals. She is a co-director of KwaRescue, a non-profit organization seeking to bring healing and dignity to survivors of sexual violence.
